The Glen Nayook Reserve is home to more than 100 ferns and flowering plants including the rare Mountain Helmet Orchid (Corysanthes grumula). Among the tall Mountain Ash trees (Eucalyptus regnans) you will find a wide variety of mature specimens of trees and shrubs, for example Blanket-leaf (Bedfordia arborescens), Musk Daisy-bush (Olearia argophylla), Banyalla (Pittosporum bicolor) and Myrtle Beech (Nothofagus cunninghamii). Mostly hidden from view is a magnificent specimen of the Southern Sassefras (Atherosperma moschatum).

The Friends of Glen Nayook are very thankful for the help provided by members of the Latrobe Valley Fields Naturalist Club with plant surveys and will continue to value their input.

Please contact us if you have identified plants that are not yet recorded for the reserve. Your contributions are much appreciated.
